Since its inception, OD Urla has been committed to providing services grounded in sustainable and ethical production. Located amidst olive groves in Urla, our estate encompasses not only our restaurant and accommodation facilities but also a substantial area dedicated to in-house production. In our expansive garden, we cultivate a variety of fruits, vegetables, herbs, spices, and edible plants that feature prominently in our seasonal menus. Our olive trees enable us to harvest and produce our own olive oil within our on-site production facility. Over the years, we've expanded our cultivation efforts by adding two additional fields. Spanning 130 acres across three distinct areas (Urla, Karaburun, Bozdag), these fields allow us to grow ethically sourced fruits and vegetables, tailored to the season, which are then integrated into our culinary offerings.
From the very beginning, we've relied on produce from our own farm, ensuring the highest quality milk, cheese, and eggs-all derived from animals raised under optimal conditions and processed in our dairy facility. Our kitchen has consistently operated under a "zero waste" philosophy, making certain that no part of any ingredient goes unused. Every element is thoughtfully repurposed, contributing to the creation of aromatic oils, sauces, chips, and other components that enhance our dishes.
Our choice to establish OD Urla in this region reflects our dedication to working closely with local producers who adhere to the highest ethical standards. We source seafood from the Aegean, regional meats, and location-specific vegetables from trusted local producers. Many of the items used in our service are crafted by local artisans, supporting the region's economy. Moreover, our efforts have revitalized local agriculture by motivating farmers who were on the verge of leaving their land. Through our commitment to sustainable practices, we've provided them with a reliable business model, encouraging them to continue their work.
In recent years, we've transitioned to using only electric vehicles for guest transportation and are actively pursuing initiatives to make our energy sources more sustainable. At OD Urla, every step we take is guided by our commitment to sustainability, with the goal of leaving a lasting, positive legacy for future generations.
